Carl Cameron saying that McCain advisors are acknowleging there seems to be “no path” at this point.

Pointing to the economic crisis as nearly insurmountable for any republican. Why that is the case I’ll never understand....!

Bastards all, every single one of them in the media, getting all GIDDY and giggly over this disaster for America...I spit on them all.

My feelings, multiplied by millions. I despise them, hate them, will never never "reach out" to them, will do anything I can to oppose and obstruct them. And screw any RINO calling for "reconciliation" with the racist socialist, I don't cooperate with Satan.

how the hell did he fail to take leadership on the cheating? he can not prove cheating until all the voting is in. he came out and said this election will NOT be decided tonight. he plans to fight!
not many folks wanted mccain, some did. many republicans have wanted mccain for years (he was not my pick either)but i have gained new respect for the man. palin was a awesome pic and despite what the msm has been touting she has drawn HUGE crowds and excited the base. they ran a fine campaign. nothing mccain could have done different with the financial crisis and any thing he did prior would have been forgotten in the mess and panic. he has always said and always ran (22 times and won) that peeps dont make up their minds until 3 days before a election. as far as i can tell mccain is looking better in the exit polls than bush did in 04.
write in palin? that dont help at all! might as well vote for nobama.....

Unless McCain has somehow managed to flip California, it doesn’t look possible for him (and us) to win.

The closeness of the popular vote will limit BO’s legislative aggressiveness

Doubtful. I remember people saying exactly the same thing when Bill Clinton won with 42% of the vote. He charged full-steam ahead with his big-city-pol payout, gays in the military, etc.

What stopped him cold was the cohesiveness of the GOP in the Congress. Newt had great leadership qualities and could hold a minority caucus together in the House. For all his faults as a Presidential candidate, Dole did pretty well in the Senate. Between Boehner and Mitch I don't see the GOP having the kind of leadership talent that's going to move back to a Congressional majority in two years ... especially since RINOS like Specter, Snowe and Collins can be expected to cross party lines to break filibusters.

Great ideas! We need to go into Atlas Shrugged mode....

Yep. Stop buying. If you can, lay off a few people and do your best.

This could be the start of a bartering age. If you have a service, barter for something you need.

I know it sounds like a challenge, but the only way to kill a monster larger than yourself is to starve it.

If you want Perry, you get Mexico, too. (thanks to him, we’ve got that Trans Texas Corridor). Perry is a RINO. I wouldn’t mind seceding, but Perry is OUT!

Does the Fairness Doctrine have to past the Senate?

Our main problem in the future, I can say this in two words “Fairness Doctrine”.
_____________________________

Once the Federal Govt is allowed to control speech, then speech can no longer be considered one of our freedoms. If we lose our free speech, then we cease to exist as a free people. It’s as simple as that.

If the Fairness Doctrine is pushed through it will destroy Rush Limbaugh and right wing radio. It will matastisize into every quadrant of our lives including the internet.

We may be lucky to get our voices on satilite radio but how many will ab able to afford it? We’ll lose tens of thousands who won’t be able to spring for the service.

The democrat party like I’ve always said has been very successful in creating a group of people that walk around with their hands out expecting the govt to “fill ‘er up”. We’re the exceptions, the ones who wish to live and die by our own abilities without the govt intervening. We are no longer a majority in this country. And if the dems continue as successfully as they have in the past, when we die, the last of the true Americans will have died.

Well, the country will now be more polarized than ever and race relations are about to be set back 50 years. We will be able to filibuster any Supremes and far-left proposals. We need to stave off any huge proposals until 2010 and pull another 1994. Sadly, some folks were right saying that we need a Carter to get another Reagan. Who that Reagan will be... no one knows. I love Sarah Palin, but she won’t be it.

Excellent post. This is a catastrophic event which is a call to arms for all of us to do our very best to limit the damage and take back congress in 2010. I still have a deep faith in the spirit of America and we cannot afford to be depressed and roll up in the fetal position.

Conservatives do not whine, we act and that is what we must do. We must refocus on educating our circle of influence on economics. I have long maintained that one of the root causes of liberalism is the lack of understanding of economics.
