“To accuse your true friend(s) of extortion is beyond the pale.”

Is it beyond the pale, if your true friend committed extortion?

As you can see you’re sounding like Alan Colmes, using the same non-logic he uses: an accusation must be wrong if it’s harsh.

But conversely and perversely: accusations by liberals are always valid due to “the seriousness of the charge.”

IS there any example, proof or reason to even think that this has crossed the mind(s) of those in power across the pond?

During WWII, the Brits GAVE you the Japanese codes, but you had to try and break them yourselves because of the kind of misplaced suspicion you exhibit NOW with this scurrilous and baseless accusation!

That, sir, is the very definition of a "StrawMan" argument: set up a baseless premise, then "prove" your point by arguing to tear down what you set up.

It's a junior high school debating technique at its peak of relevance.
