I truly dislike Ron Paul. I believe he is a kook in terms of foreign policy and his views on Iraq are very distorted.

Most Republicans agree with you, which is why they went down hard on Tuesday. If the Republicans want to be relevant again, they need to offer a choice (Paul) not an echo (McCain).

Partisanship has trumped ideology on the Right since Goldwater lost. Pre-neocon conservatism will gain no traction in the GOP until Obama decides that Nation Building, spreading of democracy to the turd-world (at taxpayer expense), and general military adventurism are "progressive" goals - in part because they grow the government. Likewise for government intrusion in the form of the Patriot Act.

And even then, when we are treated to the Medicare-expanding, big-brothering, nation-building, deficit-spending Hussein W. Obama, the collective sanity in the GOP will be fleeting - once Republicans regain power (on a tidal wave of small-government conservatism that carried Bush to power - ughh), they will squander their mandate by expanding government just like Bush. Why? Because we will again actually be led by unprincipled, but "electable", Republican moderates who mouth the right platitudes but who will act to gain the sympathies only of the left and the media (in the rare instances there is a difference). You will be admonished again to shut up and send money, and take one for "the team". Best case scenario is that your efforts are rewarded by some rino neocon ***hole like Bush being elected.

So are you saying that if we nominated a kook (paul) who’s nuttier than a jar of chunky peanut butter that we would have won on Tuesday?

Paul is a joke.

He’s all for term limits unless they apply to him.

He’s for sticking millions worth of earmarks for the Trans Texas Highway AKA NAFTA Super Highway into the budget so then he can vote against it and still get his money.

He’s a two faced lying fraud who is a disgrace to the very party he claims to be a member of.
