I just saw the LBJ edition of American Experience. About half way through it was clear to me that LBJ certainly had personal motive. He was driven to the power and both Kennedys had him in check as VP. Looked like Kennedy would be in office for 8 years and LBJ’s career was over for all practical purposes.

exactly. Not to say Kennedy’s awful weakness against Cuba and the USSR. LBJ said “Time for change, yes we can” and they did it.

That’s the way I see LBJ, it became clear to me in the same way as it did to you. He wanted the office of president and the only was he was ever going to get it was to get JFK out of the way. I have read almost everything about LBJ and that is the way I see him, there will be others along soon to say you and I are idiots.

And then JFK was assassinated. But that's how the Democrats roll.
