Michelle Obama, wife of US President-elect Barack Obama, says she is "begging" her mother to move to Washington to be with their daughters who dote on their grand mother.
"I am begging my mother", Marian Robinson, to leave her home on Chicago's south side and move to the White House to be with Malia (10) and Sasha (seven), Michelle said and hoped that her mother will heed to the request.
"The girls are going to need her, as part of their sense of stability," Michelle told Newsweek.
"And what is true for my mom is that she does anything for us and her grandkids. All they have to do is look at her with sad eyes and she's done for," she said.
The family is expected to move to the White House after Obama is inaugurated as US President on January 20. Marian regularly made a 10-minute journey from her home to the Obamas' residence to look after her grand daughters for almost two years while their parents were campaigning for the primaries and Presidential elections.
Michelle said her mother initially told her that "there wasn't enough space" and that she "didn't want to intrude" into their space.
"I think she's going to come," she said. If 71-year-old Marian decides to stay in the White House, it will be an important addition to new White House team as the country's next First Family prepares for the domestic makeover.

And what did Grandma, at age 71, plan to do with the remaining years of her life?
Leave her home, her life, and her friends and other family in Chicago to move ot DC and become live-in help?
Raise Michelle ma Belle’s kids so they feel “stable”?
Tailor Grandma’s waking hours around a kid schedule of school sports dance and PR events?
If that’s not an interesting life for Michele, why should Grandma do it? Anyone who wanted to give up their remaining useful days to become a fulltime nanny would not have to be begged. But we have seen the Obummers are masterful at using guilt.
At least this Granny will not suffer a sudden onset of cancer and die unmourned.

Honestly, I don’t see a problem with this. If the kids are close to their Grandma, this would be a good thing for them. She will have to leave the kids a lot, and grandmas are better for kids than strangers.
Poor ol Aunt Zeituni could help, but she’s being deported right now.
It was too juicy to resist. If it works for him great. If not, its a big house with plenty of places to hide to get away from the family drama.

It's the trash who conceived and bore them who are being trashed -- which is appropriate for such trash.
I didn’t say it was bad that they were moving Michelle’s mother in. I think it’s a good thing.
But you cannot tell me that no matter how well you raise your kids that there isn’t a time they might go to a game and sneak off with a teen of the opposite sex. There’s nothing you can do to stop it.
