You can stop it, but it takes lots of effort.

Most parents don’t want to intrude on their kids lives that much.

My tween daughter had a seizure last year, and now she is never left alone. We originally had a baby monitor in her room at all times so that we could hear her. I did give that up because it’s been over a year since her seizure.

You can have alarms in your house to monitor movement. There are just so many ways to monitor kids these days.

Most problems come from parents leaving kids at home alone or giving them free reign in the car.

Some teens would rebel at constantly being monitored. And many who are closely monitored while at home rebel like the dickens once they get to college. Teens need increasing amounts of freedom and responsibility, not decreasing. At some point you have to trust in what you have taught them.
