Pickens' Wind Farm On Hold--Blames Falling Oil Prices

T-Boone Pickens admits he's been hurt by falling oil prices. By Jerry Bohnen Wednesday, November 12, 2008

Billionaire oilman T-Boone Pickens admits he's been hurt by falling oil prices--so much so that he's put his massive wind-farm project on hold in the Texas Panhandle. Pickens made the revelation Tuesday while speaking in Phoenix, Arizona. He also has cut pack on his nationwide public relationscampaign encouraging people to turn to wind energy and natural gas instead of oil and gasoline. Pickens, known for his generosity to Oklahoma State University's athletic programs wanted to build the world's largest wind farm in the panhandle of Texas.

His SCAM has been discovered and he cannot scare people any longer, now that they know the way to energy security is via US drilling.

Prices were NEVER going to fall below $100 again.....how long did that prediction hold?

People need to realize that there are no true “experts”.....I think the past few years have given plenty of evidence to this.

Well it served him and Obama well through the election season at least. Now he can drop his “plans” and go back to making money.

T. Boone isn’t all bad. He did help fund the swiftboat ads which helped torpedo the U.S.S. John Forbes Kerry. But mostly, T. Boone looks out for the interests of T. Boone.

In the end look for $80 per barrel to become the Ceiling on Oil Prices as this has been unofficially chosen as the floor for energy prices by OPEC- (When the floor becomes the ceiling!)

He sees the next best thing on the horizon in a few short years, mini-nuclear plants with no weapons-grade material and no moving parts. The size of a small storage shed, they can be buried underground easily and one will power 10,000 households, already making wind farms obsolete.

Sorry, T Boone — you tried to talk up oil prices, but failed.

When the offshore drilling ban expired in October, OPEC(and other oil producing countries) realized that they need to get the price of oil back to where it’s wasn’t profitable to drill or produce alternative energy resources. Only during a time with a Democratic Congress reluctant to allow drilling could they get away with such high prices.

Unfortunately what hurts him is hurting the pro drilling crowd just as much. The urgency is gone......for now.
