Obama Holds Secret Meeting With HRC
Politico via Yahoo News ^ | 14 Nov 2008 | Carrie Budoff Brown, Mike Allen

President-elect Barack Obama met Thursday with Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) at his transition headquarters in Chicago as a growing chorus of advisers pushes her for secretary of state.

This would give him a “Team of Rivals” Cabinet that would allow him to focus on the domestic economy while Clinton traveled the world to shore up America’s image with allies.

A clue to the secret visit was contained in a note last night from the protective pool of journalists who follow Obama: “Several minutes before President-elect Obama's motorcade emerged from the basement garage beneath his transition headquarters, another unidentified motorcade of approximately three SUVs left the garage.”

Several officials described the visit to Politico on Friday.

Secret meetings....? Love the "transparency" of his future administration. It would also explain the number of Clinton retreads we've seen appointed/mentioned.

I wonder how all the Obama supporters feel about the Clinton shadow presidency pulling Obama’s strings?

Why would Hillary want to be SOS and serve at the whim of her arch-rival?

She’s better off in the Senate, where she has a sinecure for life.

Fine with me. I’d much rather have her than John “threw my medals away” Kerry.

Hillary was in Albany NY today and made these comments:

http://blogs.timesunion.com/capitol/archives/9292

I think she will take the cabinet position and Dem Governor Patterson will name her replacement.

Remember, Hillary ran for Senate for only one reason, a stepping stone for the Presidency. That’s OVER so a high profile stint with Obama will give her more high paying private sector options without much work in 4 - 8 years.

She could care less about NY, never did.

Not much of a secret if it is already published and posted here. Sort of like the secret talks Obama had with President Bush? When he went back and blabbed it 20 minutes later?

Why do you think?

This woman has one ambition - to be President, nothing else. Closest to the current person is a better seat should an opportunity present (impeach, disqualified, etc)

Obama and McCain are supposed to meet next week, as well. Naturally, that will also fuel rumors of a potential cabinet postion, such as SecDef. I could see Obama offering McCain something. It would allow Gov. Napolitano from AZ to fill the Senate seat and get the Dems closer to their magic number of 60.

Whether she is selected or not; I am not surprised as they both work for the same people.

No. She is a front and will always be one. She will do the bidding of who owns her. She and Obama also a front work for the same person.

If Hillary gets anywhere near the Whitehouse, Barry is gonna need a food tester. And if I were Pelosi, I wouldn’t start my own car either.

It is hilarious. “Change” seems to be all about bringing in Clinton hacks from 1996!

When you elect someone who is weak on experience and leadership skills, they are bound to just be puppets for those who manipulative. He will be a toy of the Clintons and other establishment DC types.
