Yes.
I was listening to a Maritime Emergency net out of Canada last week and they were giving out Tropical storm info to ships in Bermuda. They gave navigational info to a capt in Scotland and so much more.
These people work hard for free to keep people safe and connected.
One guy in Boothbay Harbor Maine contacted the net and an operator San Diego did a phone patch to a relative in SD from the radio in Maine(the shifted off freq of the network to do it so I shifted freq to listen to them do it.

Ya didnt know they could call yer phone via shortwave radio did ya?

Did not know that, it’s very cool!

What’s amazing is that these guys get to communicate all over the world through this Amateur Radio Network. And that we get to listen to them!
