Might be a bit dated, but California has 533,741 mormons. So, to buy this argument, ALL of them - EVERYONE, even those not of voting age - must have voted in order to “tip” the election.

The mormons did raise a ton money for Prop 8 and did the whole mobilizing thing.
Which was huge because the anti-Prop 8 people poured in $38 million to defeat the bill— while the prop 8 forces posted a respectable $36 million, with a not insignificant portion coming from Mormons inside and outside of the state, to the chagrin of a lot of people wearing leather masks.
