The nomination problem stems from the GOP’s rules pertaining, thereto, which actually allow the Dems to choose the Republican candidate.

It will only be worse in 2012. Assuming Obama isn't so bad that the Dems run against him in the primaries, that will leave every Dem in the country to help us select another McCain.

No more “open” primaries.

No more caucuses.

No more winner-take-all primaries.

No more blue states going first.

Apportion state delegate counts according to the % of Republican votes garnered in the previous general election.

That'll do it.
