WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A top Republican said on Friday that Democratic U.S. President-elect Barack Obama is "off to a good start" and indicated he was pleased to see President George W. Bush get ready to leave.
"Our members, in one way, are kind of relieved by the departure of an administration that became unpopular and made it very difficult for us to compete," Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell told reporters on Capitol Hill.

This should be called "THE FAILED OBAMA ADMINISTRATION" EACH AND EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!
After all, we need to show him the same courtesy Pelosi showed to Bush.
Is anyone still in doubt that John Boehner and Mitch McConnell should have been tossed from GOP leadership?
Even if he privately thinks it, he certainly should not be saying it.
Has someone been hitting the 9:45 a.m. Happy Hour?
We’re done for.
“Top Republican Mitch McConnell”
Who?
Somebody needs to tell Mitch that Congress' ratings are even lower than Bush's ratings.
Let me do it for him.
The failed Obama administrations stewardship of the Economy has been ABYSMAL.
The Stupid Party..just never get’s it
Screw off, McCON-nell.
So.
How many seats are Republicans going to lose in 2010?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
WHAAAAT??? (keyboard damaged)
...for a turd in a sack of arsenic.
WTH is the point of having two parties anymore? I’m so sick of this crappy GOP “leadership”. They still don’t get it - I don’t think they ever will.
What a kidder...
Tough words coming from a member of a Group of People with LOWER APPROVAL ratings than the President, and setting NEW Records for lowest Ratings ever.
Political BS....Wait till the Military guys get home and start running for Congress....tic..tic...tic...
Here they go selling us out already! Primary time! Start the list now. Who are the RINO’s that we have to focus on for defeat?
I’m beginning to think that Conservatives from every quarter ought to just start their own party, let the country club blue bloods be rid of the Conservatives and be RINOs all they like, reach across the aisle and just form their own sham “two-party” system for mock elections. Oh, and then not allow the Arts and Croissants Elite RINOs to invade the Conservative Party and louse it up like they have the Republican Party.
We seem to be blessed (cursed) with a leadership made up of the biggest jackasses in the history of the Republican party, at this moment in time.
McConnell should find something better to do with his time, and quit wasting ours.
