We can’t compete with the democrats on emotions and fluff so if that’s all we offer then we’ll lose again.

You need to get yourself a new sarcasm detector - yours is obviously defective.

We didn’t offer substance. We offered McCain and Palin and attacks against “greed.”

Nonsense. "We" offered plenty of substance - it was just the wrong substance. THAT was controlled by McCain - those decisions were not up to Palin. As the VP candidate she was required to adhere to McCain's wishes.

Perhaps you could grasp this more easily if you looked at it in military terms. When allowed to have her way, Palin did attempt to focus on substantive issues, particularly energy. McCain, however, put a whole slate of issues off the table and whenever Palin got to close to them she was slapped down or sabotaged by her own (supposedly) people.

Despite all this she conducted a brilliant tactical campaign on the ground, against overwhelming odds, but was doomed to ultimate failure by the strategic incompetence and stupid decisions of her commanding general, his staff and a woefully inadequate logistics support system.

Of course, I know you actually do understand all this - it just doesn't fit your agenda to acknowledge it. You've got your meme and you'll be clinging to it to the bitter end... /grin

Well, now she’s free from McCain. Now is her opportunity to talk about substance.

But if we’re just going to have an emotional Palin love fest for the next few years then it’s not gonna happen.
