I missed that, I’m trying very hard to multitask right now (and failing miserably, being male). There’s so much breaking news about this it’s hard to keep up. This should be top news here in the US, this is nuts. This has all of the hallmarks of a AQ-style attack. Very well organized. But the attackers don’t appear to be suicidal and there are reports of hostages being taken. Chilling stuff.

Fedayeen style, prevalent in Kashmir, armed, overammoed and grenaded jihadis wreak havoc, welcome death but do not court it, will kill, fight and either escape or die.
Some take hostages.
Terrorist “suicidal” has two forms:
1. the “homicider” who blows himself/herself and surroundings up with a bomb.
2. the “homicider” who does as much damage and death as he or she can and does not expect to return home,
Little difference other than the former targets a location, while the latter can operate selectively and eventually also become a suicider by exploding himself when cornered.
The latter expects to die as much the former.
