Thank you all for your prayers. My mom is in pretty good spirits even though it has now been upgraded to a double bypass including a LIMA.

I was able to bring my sons in even though Community Hospital of Munster, IN does not normally allow it. (Thanks to Jodi her nurse)

She saw her grandson, my son, for the first time. My older son also was there. He was a bit scared by her appearence but the little one gave her a kiss on the forehead. She was so excited and happy. We were able to stay for about an hour and then had to leave.

Prayers were said at the Thanksgiving Day table for her and my father. I forgot to mention him. The man is a rock. But we all know that even rocks cry and are scared.

I know there are miracles every day and prayers on FR are the cause for a lot of them.

She goes in first thing tomorrow.

I can’t thank you all enough for your thoughts and prayers. I plan to show this thread to my sister when she comes back from her visit with mom.

That visit with you and your boys was good and powerful medicine for your mom to have before she goes into surgery.

I know you all are concerned. My family has been in a similar situation. My mother had a stint put into her heart, but it didn’t do the job and she had quadruple bypass heart surgery shortly afterward. She was around your mom’s age. I’m thankful to say that she is still going strong.

Praying that your mom’s surgery and recovery will be successful too, and that she will have many more years to enjoy life with her loved ones.

Y’all will be in my prayers tonight and tomorrow. God bless and be with you all.

Thanks for the update and the good news about your mom getting to see and be in the receiving end of a kiss from her grandson. Those are always nice to get. Prayers continue for your mom, her medical team, your dad, and all your family. I’ll keep an eye out for further updates. May tomorrow be the beginning of a recovery that brings good health and well being for your mom.

Thanks again for the thoughts and prayers.

Her surgery went well but it was worse than even they thought yesterday. It became a triple by-pass and she had a collapsed lung. Her heart is enlarged and they had to put tubes in to drain the fluid around her lungs and heart.

I went to see her tonight with my father. She looked pretty good to me. Her eyes were open and she was responding to questions.

That poor man. I only hope I still love my wife like that after fifty years. I felt so helpless watching him ask her to squeeze his hand so he could find some reassurance of her strength. Just looking for some sign that she was going to be ok.

He cried as we were geting to our cars. I told him it was ok to cry and held him as he cried. I told him that he held me when I was a child and in pain and now it was my turn.

He went home and I went off to my sister’s. We have been trying to get him to come here and stay with us but he insists on going home alone.

The next couple of days are going to be critical and I am glad I could be here to help her in any way I can.

Please, once again, remember us in your prayers.

Ray
