What a lovely son you are. On most days, I'm the very sick mom asking everybody for prayer. Its my privilege to turn the tables, so to speak, and pray for you and your mom, and the entire family. G-D’s peace and guidance be with you.

Prayers for your mom, your family, and the medical personnel. She might not have had the pneumonia when you took her the first time, don't beat yourself or the doctors up over that. It takes some time to show up on x-rays and lab. She should have many years left, open heart surgery is so much more common that it used to be. Keep your chin up!

Prayers said for you and your Mom.
My family is from Chicagoland too; my Mom passed away there in 2005.
I had a stent inserted in 2002; smoking and stress were the reason IMO.
