Many Catholics are "basically good people" who cannot connect the dots. To them murder of children is nothing more than being "pro choice" and an issue that has been on the back burner for years. Their weak understanding of the economy is far more important as well as a myriad of other issues put forward by the Democrats that they like, especially entitlements.
They simply do not understand that they will perish if they do not take a stand in favor of the culture of life. A stand for life would force the Democrat Party to put forward candidates who support life. But greed, ignorance, and superstition takes over for them like other liberals with disordered minds.
Most Catholics are basically lost and incapable of being “basically good people.” Incidentally, most other folks are as well. They may do good things now and then, but unless their lives are surrendered to the Lord, they are going to make reprehensible choices.
Anyone who could vote for a pro-abortion candidate without the slightest tinge of guilt about the issue has a seared conscience, plain and simple. They should examine their lives to see if they truly know the Lord.
Catholics are infested with the same cross section of elites, academics, blue-collar, free thinkers, etc., as the rest of society. We have our fair share who go to Mass on Sunday and live the rest of the week as if they don't know Christ. In this case, it was really economic fear and the thing that even the hierarchy doesn't get is that it was the policies of democratic administrations and congresses that got us into the mess.
