Obama Quietly Reinstates Another Fired Adviser

Samantha Power, the Harvard professor who was forced to resign from Barack Obama’s presidential campaign last spring after calling Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton “a monster,” is now advising the president-elect on transition matters relating to the State Department — which Clinton is slated to head.

Power is listed on Obama’s transition Web site as part of the team reviewing national security agencies. Her duties, according to the site, will be to “ensure that senior appointees have the information necessary to complete the confirmation process, lead their departments, and begin implementing signature policy initiatives immediately after they are sworn in.”

In short, she is part of a team that is likely to work directly with Clinton, a potentially awkward situation for the two women. Obama is expected to officially announce Clinton as his choice for secretary of state after the Thanksgiving holiday.

I'm thinking there are all sorts of 24/Darpa/Sylla type intrigues going on deep behind the scenes.

I think my tagline, from Rudy Giuliani at the RNC, explains it pretty well. Not much friggin change, either.

If this doesn't prove to the left that their messiah is a "show dog" then I don't know what will.

"Uh oh, honey, the press done be herrt what you said, so I gone put you on ice 'til aftuh the election, then you'll get yo job back".

That suit just gets emptier every day.

Let’s give the President-elect a chance. He seems to be playing with Hillary like a cat plays with a mouse it’s caught. I keep having this sneaking feeling that making Hillary Secretary of State was a shrewd step towards getting rid of her. It’s not like her Senate seat will be waiting for her if she’s forced to resign from State. He’d have had no control over her as long as she was a Senator, but now . . .

“I can work for a monster if that’s what Barack wants. Besides, ‘monster’ really was taken out of context. I meant it more of in a monster truck way, not a hideous, horrible wicked thing - but I could see how the average person may have taken it that way.” -Samantha

This is how Obama intends to control Hillary. He will have his minions keeping her in line all the way. He hired Rahm Emanuel as Chief of Staff in order to control Nancy Pelosi.

Can Obama control these women??????? We shall see. Queen Nancy is the one to watch.

It would be wonderful if the Obamessiah makes Hillary go through Samantha Power all the time for WH access!! :^)

Not that Power has been appointed to a govt. position yet, but maybe she will be..... I’d love to see Hillary enjoy the humiliation of having to report through the person who called her a “monster” to millions of people.

Realistically, though, I think that Hillary won a promise of direct reporting to Obama, but maybe Power will be in on some of the meetings......

More change we can believe in. As for Hillary, during the primaries The One said she is totally unqualified in the area of foreign policy. So whats he do? Gives her the Secretary of State job.

There is an illuminating article about coverage of the West Bank issue and Samantha Power’s appointment at:

http://israelmatzav.blogspot.com/2009/02/ny-times-friedman-calls-for-us-troops.html

It is an article critical of New York Times columnist Tom Friedman who has taken the same position as Samantha Power.

A video of an interview Power gave about using U.S. Troop deployment to maintain Peace and Nation Build in the West Bank follows the article.

It is a must view!
