I hope that it will be possible for lost liberties to be regained without civil war.
There are plausible scenarios in which that would be possible; in all the ones I can think of, Barack legitimately takes the Presidency in 2009; in most of them, the Democrats lose the Congress in 2011. In nearly all of the scenarios I can think of where Obama is not eligible for the presidency, the leftist power base is sufficiently secure as to prevent any electoral losses.
Who knows--perhaps it would be better to have events dash all hopes of a peaceful return to lawful government, than to hold on to hopes which may turn out to be in vain; the fact that hope exists for such a peaceful resolution does not mean that it is actually possible. Nonetheless, it's hard to imagine going through everyday life without some hope for the future.
