McCain scolds GOP for whacking Obama
Politico ^ | 2008-12-14 | Mike Allen

Posted on 12/14/2008 7:40:23 AM PST by rabscuttle385

In a surprising rebuke to the warriors who fought for him through tough times, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Sunday sided with President-elect Barack Obama and scolded the Republican National Committee for fanning the Illinois corruption scandal.

On ABC’s “This Week,” host George Stephanopoulos asked: “The chairman of the Republican National Committee, Mike Duncan, has been highly critical of the way President- elect Obama has dealt with this.

"He's had a statement every single day, saying that the Obama team should reveal all contacts they've had with Governor [Rod] Blagojevich. He says that Obama's promise of transparency to the American people is now being tested. Do you agree with that?”

McCain replied: “I think that the Obama campaign should and will give all information necessary. You know, in all due respect to the Republican National Committee and anybody — right now, I think we should try to be working constructively together, not only on an issue such as this, but on the economy stimulus package, reforms that are necessary. And so, I don't know all the details of the relationship between President-elect Obama's campaign or his people and the governor of Illinois, but I have some confidence that all the information will come out. It always does, it seems to me.”

“McCain: but I have some confidence that all the information will come out. It always does, it seems to me.”

Well, ALL the information sure didn’t get out about you and Barak before the election in time to do any of us any good, did it?

Will McCain now chide Obama for planning to use his middle name Hussein at the inauguration? McCain certainly had no reservations about scolding conservatives for identifying the chosen one by his full islamic name.

“He told the Repubs to focus on solutions first and politics second.”

What specific Republicans needed to be told that? I’m not aware of any who are concentrating on this Chicago sleaze-o-rama. Maybe it’s getting a lot of time on talk radio, as it should, but what office holders are obsessing over it?

I think McCain is just playing a role typical for him. He’s giving out advice that isn’t needed. He just loves to be self-righteous and give out advice.

“There are so many good things about McCain on the personal level.

But as a politician, he’s an idiot.”

So true. Thanks to early voting by liberal east coast RHINOS, he was our rep this year. McCain Feingold campaign finance reform alone is enough to discredit his political will. It seems like he would prefer one big happy party, not two. Hmmm.

I don’t even need to read the whole article. Forget this guy. He doesn’t want to win, he’d rather hang out in the country club than fight.

An issue bigger than scolding the GOP for it's criticism of Zero in the Blago affair was Juan's hemming and hawing when asked if he would support Sarah if she were to run for President. For all intents and purposes he incredibly said "no". Geez it's time for him to exit the stage.

After the MSM spend the last year or so eviserating him, McCain’s now trying to get back into their good graces. I swear that man has some kind of complex.

Was this McCain truth file available during the primaries here on FreeRepublic? If so I did not see it because we certainly could have used it. I only saw one for Romney and Guiliani.

There is little that can be done about McCain now. There is, however, something that can be done to the RNC: require future RNC primaries be closed to anyone registered as a Republican for at least 6 months prior to the primary.

Yeah, and then take those results to nomnate the Democrat. Did you read what you said?

Whoa!!!

Obviously, I didn't read it as well I thought.

That should be "closed to anyone except those registered as a Republican".

Thanks

“We should prepare to run Republicans next time!”

We should run conservatives next time.
