McCain scolds GOP for whacking Obama
Politico ^ | 2008-12-14 | Mike Allen

Posted on 12/14/2008 7:40:23 AM PST by rabscuttle385

In a surprising rebuke to the warriors who fought for him through tough times, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Sunday sided with President-elect Barack Obama and scolded the Republican National Committee for fanning the Illinois corruption scandal.

On ABC’s “This Week,” host George Stephanopoulos asked: “The chairman of the Republican National Committee, Mike Duncan, has been highly critical of the way President- elect Obama has dealt with this.

"He's had a statement every single day, saying that the Obama team should reveal all contacts they've had with Governor [Rod] Blagojevich. He says that Obama's promise of transparency to the American people is now being tested. Do you agree with that?”

McCain replied: “I think that the Obama campaign should and will give all information necessary. You know, in all due respect to the Republican National Committee and anybody — right now, I think we should try to be working constructively together, not only on an issue such as this, but on the economy stimulus package, reforms that are necessary. And so, I don't know all the details of the relationship between President-elect Obama's campaign or his people and the governor of Illinois, but I have some confidence that all the information will come out. It always does, it seems to me.”

I don’t. I am not a fan of McCain’s “bipartisanship” but I would still vote for him over that worthless POS Obama.

Why won’t this pathetic, old pretender leave the party already? He is worse than useless to Conservatives. The only time he even acknowledges our existence is when he wants our money!

Hey, Johnnie boy.

Since you lost the primaries in 2000, you have stabbed conservatives and Pres Bush in the back every chance you got. You worked with the Shuckster to steal the primaries this year. We stood behind you not because we wanted you so much as we didn't want Obammie the Commie in the White House.

Well, thanks to your stupid new GOP, play-nice rules, you lost, which means we lost, and now we have a commie in the White House and controlling both houses of congress.

Thanks for your military service. Now shut up and go the hell away and let the patriots, the conservatives, save this country from Obammie’s commies.

"And the GOP scolds McCain by not electing him! What has happened to this once-great man? I really don’t understand."

Whether he was "great" or not is debatable. Yes, he certainly did suffer terribly for America at the hands of the commie Vietnamese and gave much for our country. I guess that can be considered one type of greatness. But he tarnished it all with his constant cooperation with the America's main domestic enemy -- the Democrat Party. He's now transformed himself into a wimpy RHINO.

McCain continues to destroy the GOP. I don’t think he’s an idiot. I think he is working for the other side.

"There are so many good things about McCain on the personal level. But as a politician, he’s an idiot."

How true is this.

I have the utmost respect for him as a person, but if I had to watch one more debate where I could have easily taken Obama apart (and McCain missed the obvious openings and failed to do so), my head would explode

It's like Rush says, once they get inside the beltway, all the care about is the Dems and the press stroking their egos. They'll sacrifice anyone and anything for praise from the MSM.

This just reminds me why I voted for Palin. He is the worst kind on RINO, he does not even know what a conservative is. He a Maverick, just being John. He was too polite to lead this nation.

I wish that he would just move on to doing Viagra commercials now or join the Democrat party.

I agree. McCain's also telling Obama he'll help with the "tough" issues. That's crap. There are NO tough issues, there's just tough consequences. In short, McCain's going to deflect criticisms from Obama to the Republicans. He's a jerk. A hero when he was young, but a jerk today.
