NEVADA? There is no personal income tax in Nevada. Is it a matter of state/county fees or sales taxes which make the difference? I own property in Nevada and plan to retire there—in spite of Harry the real estate wizard Reid. Does anyone have an answer?
What kind of deeply stupid methodology was used for this? Is this some sort of disinformation? Where is the STATE INCOME TAX in the chart? There is NO WAY that Washington State tax is higher than Oregon tax if you work for a living. Oregon has a 9% income tax and 0% sales tax. Washington has the opposite, an 8% sales tax and 0% income tax.
I’ve seen this chart in years past, and had the same reaction. Sadly the article doesn’t say who is producing it. Who ever it is they have they are confused.
This article is only about sales taxes - which kind of misses the point. Nevada is still income-tax free, and thus way better than most states.
I caught that too. I call BS on this one
Clark county is by far the worse offender in terms of taxes but is not overboard, yet.
