A ceremony arranged for his grandmother, whom he lost during the election process, may end up causing quite a headache for Barack Obama.
In a ceremony held in Hawaii, Obama, teary-eyed, poured his grandmother's ashes into the sea from the sand-lined shore. Environmentalists were quick to stand up against the move.
The reason behind the contention was the state's Department of Land and Natural Resources Protection Law, which prohibits ashes from being dropped into the ocean. According to the regulation in place, ashes must be poured at a distance of at least three nautical miles.

For every ounce of "grandmother ash" spewed into the atmosphere--- another polar bear drowns...
Another stupid extremist rule by adherents of the mystical religion of environmentalism.
What an idiot.
I don’t believe this at all .
The releases of cremation ashes into the ocean in Hawaii
is a very common event . Probably each and every day , someone
goes home in this manner . I have never heard a negative word about it here. It may be on the books , but certainly not enforced .
That’s it! I’m never going to Hawaii! I don’t wanna swim with Obama’s grandma!
If this was his Grandmothers wish, I’m good with it. My Mom wanted her ashes scattered here in NY where she grew up. It’s a BIG nono legally, but I’m willing to do it for her.
I am sure he knew exactly what the wacky laws are. But HE, like all liberal politicians, know that they are exempt because they mean well, have only the best of intentions, and no one of any such similar political or journalistic stature would call them on it.
That probably wasn’t his grandmother...it was probably his ashtray from the car where he’d been smoking....

the EPA leaves it up to the state to regulate the waters within three nautical miles.
The state Department of Health allows scattering of human ashes within three nautical miles without any special permit or notification required.
Thats because cremated remains are not considered a health hazard, said Health Department spokeswoman Janice Okubo.
The department just asks that whomever is scattering, to please be considerate of others in the area.
LOL!
While just off shore, a Blue Whale deposits a ton of excrement into the pristine Pacific Waters.
Satire I’m sure - payback for his liberal environmental extremist appointments.
there goes Granny................
Ashes of cremation are to be buried, just like a body is buried.
He should have known better.
You silly twit....
Didn’t you get the Mainstream Media memo about this???
Laws that would put you or I in jail, NO LONGER APPLY to Elected Democrats, and haven’t for several years now.
And HONESTLY, given what’s happened to the Prop 8 supporters, and the attacks by the Gaystapo, and the extremes of leftist hatreds we see today, would YOU want to be the one listed in the papers as having given the MESSIAH a ticket for this?
Can you IMAGINE the flood of death threats you and your family would recieve?
