GOP leaders reacted angrily Wednesday to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s tactic of all but projecting Al Franken the victor over incumbent GOP Sen. Norm Coleman, even as Minnesota election officials continue to count the votes.

"At this stage, it appears that Franken will be certified the winner by the State Canvassing Board,” said a statement Reid’s office released Tuesday. “We're keeping abreast of the situation and will make a decision with regard to Senate action at the appropriate point in the process."

At the end of his term Obama could make Bush look like a popular president.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Since his term will probably end about two years after the total collapse and disintegration of the USA, who will give a damn about his popularity?

Part of me is so disgusted with the GOP as to my first thought was, “So what? Call me when the conservative party gets furious.”

Until the party returns to the platform...it is all show and noise.

I imagine Dingy Harry wants someone else in the Senate who also wears diapers like he does. What a pig.

I suspect that Reid himself won’t be seated in ‘11, and he knows it.

GOP “furious”?

Is that something like the UN generating a strongly worded condemnation?

Reid will not seat the replacement for 0bama but will seat a yet to be elected doofus....

At this point, Reid can't do anything about Doofus #1 or Doofus #2. The Minnesota Canvassing Board has yet to issue its final count and the Minnesota secretary of state thus has not yet certified the vote. Without that certification, neither Franken nor Coleman can be seated, although I guess they'll be permitted to use the Senate Mens Room. The Senate won't get a chance to seat or reject Blagojevich's pick until the Illinois secretary of state approves his appointment, and the approval looks unlikely at this point.

Long story short, this is just a bunch of politicians and operatives jerking each other's chains. It means nothing.

Good. That is what the ball-less GOP gets for putting up with the democrat corruption all these years.

Republican Senate Leadership is an oxymoron. They’re “furious”... it’s like the UN Security Council telling some rogue nation, “Stop! Or we’ll tell you to stop again!”.

We NEED Michael Steele as head of the Republican Party NOW !!

The media has over and over presented the Obama win as a huge win. When he fails to deliver the goods they want, they are going to blame Obama and his fellow Democrats.

Amen to that.

Thanks to the media, way too many people mortgaged their very souls for a house built on the "hope" of a "promise." A feeding frenzy will follow when they finally have to admit publicly that THEY were duped. It is not going to be pretty, but it will be fun to watch.

Dingy Harry and his racist ‘Rats demonstrate that Roland Burris is the wrong color, and send him to the back of the bus, but the psychotic white guy Al Franken can step to the front of the line.

Pass the sheets Bobby Byrd, looks like you’re finally going to have a working majority as the Senate’s Grand Kleagle.

"Is that something like the UN generating a strongly worded condemnation?"

It's even more like Liechtenstein issuing a stern statement...... it doesn't even arouse a yawn of indifference..... just pitiful.

This is another case study in why we should repeal the 17th amendment.

The problem with popular election of Senators is many:

The original Constitutional scheme attempted to create a balance of power between big states and small, and also between the states and the federal government.

The balance of power, and checks on federal power, that this approach created is now all but non-existent.

Which brings us to the question of "qualifications to be a Senator" that has recently been in the news with Caroline Kennedy.

And finally, we have the question of recounts. We've seen it in presidential elections, gubernatorial elections, and now in Senate elections.
