My children have only gone to Christian schools, but I’ll tell you — it’s getting to the point where we just don’t know how long we can continue to afford spending 18k/year. I’ll start selling our furniture first, but sheesh. We don’t take vacations. We don’t go to the movies. We still don’t have window treatments up in some parts of the house (just paper), but I’ll keep scraping together the money for as long as I can.

I don’t think we’ll be able to afford a good private Christian school when the time comes - so we’re looking at other options.

Do they have “Integrated” Christian schools in the US? Where a Church teaches the school, and the Gummint provides some funding in exchange for the school admitting some non-church students?

We have them here in NZ, and they are fantastic. As good as any private school, for a tiny fraction of the cost.

My kids went to public schools and were subjected to kids in large junior and senior high schools who thought it was 'uncool' to study and get good grades. Instead, partying was the big thing. Homeschooling was not being done at the time or I'd have tried it. The high school years can be a nightmare for concerned parents...
