I 100% agree with you. It is one thing for an adult to make the decision to be the salt of the earth and minister in ugly places like prisons and public schools. It is another thing to send your innocent children into battle in a place where the devil has a stranglehold. I honestly think parents who think this is a viable option must be uninformed about how bad it is these days. I taught in a public school for eight years and will never go back. Neither will my children.
How right you are! My children have always gone to a Christian private school. I have worked there for a reduced tuition, teaching Spanish, substituting, cleaning... anything except driving the school bus :-) A few months ago a friend, who is a public school teacher, offered to show me some resources if I went to her classroom after school. It was the first time I had ever set foot in a public school. The place gave me the creeps! Yes, it was nice looking, all shinny and bright, but there was something that I couldn't put my finger on...an overwhelming sense of evil. I got out of there as fast as I could and never returned. It was a valuable experience, I don't regret anything I find myself doing to be able to afford the Christian school tuition for my children!
