Barack Obama is on a collision course with his critics after picking a fight with Rush Limbaugh, America's most influential conservative commentator.
His exhortation came as he enraged other Republicans by reversing George W Bush's ban on funding international aid to charities that perform or provide information about abortions.
After less than a week in office, Mr Obama's presidency is already encountering the very partisan bickering he had pledged to stamp out during his first 100 days.
He faces mounting criticism over his $825 billion economic stimulus plan, from Republican leaders who say the legislation has been drawn up without the input which Mr Obama had promised to allow them.
The president responded with a clear signal that he is prepared to ram the bill through without the bipartisan consensus he promised to construct, telling Republican leaders from the House of Representatives: "I won. I'm the president."
He then told them to break free of the confrontational mindset epitomised by Mr Limbaugh, the highest paid talk show host in America. "You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," Mr Obama said.
His comments followed a blunt attack on him by Mr Limbaugh, who declared on air that he hoped Mr Obama would fail as president because otherwise it will usher in socialism.

Oh,, the boy went and really did it now,, I cant imagine anything that could make Rush more happy that Obama identifying him as the single greatest threat to his agenda.
Whats going to be *funny* is that when the show begins monday, Rush will have that gleeful chirp in his voice, like he just got some GREAT news.

So in 3 days, he did all the terrorists want, his first phone was to the palestinians, is spreading abortion, has insulted the media twice,,(dont grill me bro ,,, and no news photos in press conferences,,) blew it and did the oath wrong, insulted the very gracious Bush during his opening speech, and promptly stripped off his jacket as he walked into the oval office,,
If it wasnt so tragic,,, we could laugh at him.

It was a rookie mistake by Øbama even mentioning Rush’s name and I suspect our new little Caesar spoke before thinking.
Rush should be sending this idiot a thank you letter for all the new material he has given him-I expected Limbaugh’s ratings to rise quite a bit with the Rats in power but Democrats should be aware by now that every time they mention Rush, more people tune in to see his (usually) hilarious reaction.
That must be what all of the insisting on all of us Uniting or face being called UnAmerican. Since it seems they hated that we thought that of them they seem to think it will bother us now? Doesn’t bother me a bit because I know I am very American and do believe in what our Constitution says our rights are, it’s just all of the other politician created stuff I have a problem with. I oppose Obama’s agenda because I am on America’s side.

It’s time for Obambi to resign, but it’s better if he stays in and gets beat up. This will only weaken him more and more until he is nothing left but a little black smug in history.

The rats have implemented this rule, more or less successfully, against Newt Gingrich, Tom DeLay, Ken Starr, Karl Rove and Dick Cheney, among others. The scumbag Democrats always find a boogeyman they can turn into "the face of the right". The rats' most recent (and ongoing) target is Sarah Palin (although their goal with Palin is to pre-emptively soften her electability by turning her into a laughingstock and a caricature, like they did to Dan Quayle).
In all the above attacks the rats had hundreds of Democrat newsrooms eager to help them in any way possible but those resources are drying up, thank God, as Democrat newspapers continue to fold left and right. I believe that Rush, with a daily microphone and millions of listeners, will prove to be a much more difficult target. Rush is ready, willing, and able to answer the scumbags immediately and brilliantly, just as he did today with Byron. As long as Rush keeps smiling he'll win.

Now’s the time for the Republicans to draw a huge line in the sand. Refuse to engage in phony bipartisanship (Read: Bending over for the Dems), refuse to vote for any of the Dems’ bills. I don’t care if they’re in the minority and the Dems have the votes - still vote no on the suckers, let the Dems take full responsibility for their socialist legislation. Oppose Obama every step of the way.
I haven't listened to Rush in years, but I'll take his message, mimeograph it my basement, and smuggle it from coast to coast if someone tries to shut him up.
Can we please hurry up and have a summit between Obama and Putin. If he can't handle a Midwestern sportscaster turned radio host, how's he going to handle a KGB thug? I'd expect Obama to resign the next day, what ever was left of him. Or maybe Obama would offer up Poland and Chekoslowhatever the heck it is now to make him stop staring at him like that.

If it wasn’t so tragic... however, maybe we ought to stop a second and think that this is EXACTLY the leader that we deserve, and exactly the leader that God has given us. (Remember also that God can take away.) We, as a country, are incredibly spoiled, hedonistic, and selfish... much like the spoiled brat that comes out in Pr. Obama’s demeanor.
What then is our place? Our place is to take advantage of this opportunity - yes it is - and demonstrate what the office really needs: Character.
The reason that our politicians, the “ruling elite”, are where they are is because we allow it... we do not demand better of them, and in fact encourage them to be corrupt with our own cynical jokes and lack of expectations.
