Barack Obama picks a fight with Rush Limbaugh as bipartisan spirit crumbles

There was a saying that one should never pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel. Rush was nearly three hours a day, five days a week, and is heard by millions. Add to this those who read his website and newsletters, and Obama has really bitten off more than he can chew.

Why is it always Republicans who are expected to exhibit "bipartisanship"? And besides, what power do Republicans have? The man is just plain hyper-sensitive to criticism.

As I said during the campaing, it's not the color of Obamalamadingdong's skin that concerns me, it's the thinness.

Besides, when President Bush was in office, the RATS and their media lapdogs declared that "dissent is patriotic".

I'm curious about that myself.

Not so much in defense of Rush...but in defense of an obvious slap at the intellects of the Congressmen that received such a statement. Surely, at least one of them had to respond. Something like...”My opinions are my own and have nothing to do with talk radio. I am simply challenging the wisdom of your bailout plan.”

Between this incident, the “I won” statement and what appeared to be intimidation of a Politico reporter, I can't decide whether to laugh or be scared out of my mind.

He then said, "what about the U.S. Senate?" to which I countered that he only attended a third or less of all the sessions and he was habitually late on any committee if he did bother to show up at all. Rookie mistake is right! I can’t believe that he spoke Limbaugh’s name. When Clinton blurted out his “truth detector” comment many years ago he had already taken fire from the right for years and his legendary temper got the best of him. I’m sure Clinton knew right away that he had blown it. Probably Obama knows how bad he messed up if he has some quality PR folks in his inner circle who aren’t afraid to tell him the truth.

Rush’s business lives on publicity. Obama just fed Rush’s publicity machine a feast.
