You know the earth gets hit with ice-balls the size of houses all day long in the earth’s atmosphere. They mostly get burned up and turned into water, though. But, there’s a lot of those iceballs coming down on us all the time, 24 hours a day (and has been for centuries...).
There’s nothing remotely unusual about earthquake activity now or in the past few years. Actually a lower-than-average number of M 7.0+ quakes worldwide for the past several years.
