Are you saying that Donofrio documents that he was born in Canada?

If we're in agreement that "security clearance" is separate and distinct from "Constitutional qualifications to become president" then I would assert that we are in non-violent agreement on that issue.

I have a lazy and hazy view that the modern federal concept of "security clearance" dates from the National Security Act of 1947-- with roots probably going back at least to secret agents acting on behalf of the US federal executive brance prior to the Mexican American War).

Here is part of Donofrio says... (there is more)...

Chester Arthur perpetrated a fraud as to his eligibility to be Vice President by spreading various lies about his parents’ heritage. President Arthur’s father, William Arthur, became a United States citizen in August 1843. But Chester Arthur was born in 1829. Therefore, he was a British Citizen by descent, and a dual citizen at birth, if not his whole life.

He wasn’t a “natural born citizen” and he knew it.

We’ve also uncovered many lies told by Chester Arthur to the press which kept this fact from public view when he ran for Vice President in 1880. Garfield won the election, became President in 1881, and was assassinated by a fanatical Chester Arthur supporter that same year.

How ironic that the allegations started by Arthur Hinman in his pamphlet entitled, “How A British Subject Became President”, have turned out to be true…but not for the reason Hinman suggested.

Hinman alleged that Arthur was born in Ireland or Canada as a British subject. It was bunk. It’s been definitively established that Chester Arthur was born in Vermont. But Hinman turns out to be correct anyway since Chester Arthur was a British citizen/subject by virtue of his father not having naturalized as a United States citizen until Chester Arthur was almost 14 years old.

The link is at...
http://naturalborncitizen.wordpress.com/2008/12/06/urgent-historical-breakthrough-proof-chester-arthur-concealed-he-was-a-british-subject-at-birth/

There is more there, and there is other information (other than Donofrio) which would say that he was born in two other places, other than the United States. So, I guess you can have your pick of them all... LOL...

In terms of within their limited scope. . . . not greatly.

I just feel he’s leaving a ton of pertinent stuff about OThuga off the table.

thanks for your efforts, Star Traveler.

I wonder if this thread would be a good place to start a new

FR TROLL HOUSE CLEANING?

Sometimes, this place doesn’t even sound conservative on some threads any more.

SHEESH!

Chester was born in Vermont. His father wasn’t a naturalized citizen until ~14 years after Chesters’ birth.

"I just feel he’s leaving a ton of pertinent stuff about OThuga off the table."

But pertinent to what? We're not talking about the myriad ways in which Obama sucks. (Well, we are and will be for the next four years but those are diffent threads.) We're talking about his legal eligibility to be President.

There really isn't much more to it than those listed points. If he was born where and when the birth certificate says he was born, then he is eligible.

The rumors of Hitlers’ Jewish ancestry were unsubstantiated as far as I know. But, yeah, he was born in Austria-Hungary and didn’t become a German citizen until 1932. I think what was being covered up with his ancestry were the suicides, mental retardation and illness, which would have basically excluded him from the ‘master-race’/eugenics movement.

A stack of evidence demonstrates that he was not.

Right. It says, "It’s been definitively established that Chester Arthur was born in Vermont."

I believe Donofrio makes the argument that Arthur wasn't a natural born citizen, even though he was born in Vermont.

This is based on the status of his father and it's a false argument. The father's citizenship has no bearing.

"A stack of evidence demonstrates that he was not."

Not really. A stack of mythological claims say he's not, but those claims are almost entirely false. They are based on misunderstandings of the facts and the law.

I’m not saying that Donofrio is correct, and that those who say Arthur was born in Canada are wrong — but only that Donofrio is one that some Freepers would accept. Just using their own guy for “them”...

I think it was Canada...

How about Obama present that “factcheck”.org document to a court of law since “it is a representation” of his original birth certificate on file with the Hawaiian Department of Health.

That’ all he has to do to bring this to an end, which would show he was born in Hawaii.

Not a very substantive response. How about this? Test the hypothesis.

What is the best evidence that Obama is NOT eligible?
