... if we do not move swiftly to enact the (American Stimulus and Paradise Act of 2009), we will be making the same mistakes of the past... millions more will lose their jobs... millions more will lose their homes... American companies are planning to lay-off even more people... tomorrow we will get another dismal jobs report, on top of the 2.6 million jobs lost last year... this is not a game, a contest, this is about your constituants... (more applause)... it is time to set-aside the gamesmanship of this town... legislation iof this enormous magnitude means we have to move swiftly... we can’t take the time to keep debating this this... more...
... I urge all of you not to make the perfsct the enemy of the necessary... when you hear arguments on the cable channels (i.e. Fox), ask them why they weren’t concerned before i showed up... I found this deficit when I got here, wrapped up and waiting for me... it is expected that we will lose a trillion dollars this year and another trillion next year of demand (revenue?), but you ask ted Strickland if he has to worry about picking-up more for unemploymoent and food stamps and we aren’t doing this to be irresponsible... tax cuts? We started with tax cuts, and economists now say that that isn’t the way to stimulate the economy... uh... uh... economists says this is a pleasantly balaned package...
I never miss an opportunity to point out to liberals that the democrats can pass this any time they like..... But don’t for some reason.
Endeavor to persevere!! Excelsior!
