They both have matching yellow streaks up their back when it comes to doing the bidding of the RATs as they both caved big time. They forgot which Party elected them. Saying they had gone over every item in the bill was a bold faced lie IMO. If they had, they would have known that certain items could only come out of the Appropriations Committee and not subject to the stimulus bill. As far as I am concerned they can both join the Dems as we cannot count on them as it is. It takes a lot for me to say that but after their talking on the floor of the Senate last night for the bill with the RATs, the RATs can have the two just like Jeffords.
When you have Voinivich and Martinez pulling out of the talks on the stimulus, it tells you how bad they were going but yet Collins and Specter moved to the front as the negotiators for Republicans? Give me a break — they had zero authority to negotiate which was made clear by McCain and his group last night.

You can take it to the bank McCain will not be voting for this compromise. I heard him last night and he is one angry person as they have items in this bill that do not belong because they are items like the Pell Grants that come through with the Appropriation Bills not to mention all the pork.
McCain only voted for the last stimulus package because he believed Pres Bush which was a mistake as we have learned afterward.
The one thing I have stood behind McCain on over the years is his fight against pork and earmarks. No one has fought harder to end pork. They will never get his vote on this bill until they scrap the entire bill, start over and leave out all pork. He made that extremely clear last night along with the fact that the current occupant of the WH damaged his chances at bi-partisanship on future bills with his attacks against the GOP on this bill.
McCain and others referenced that ONLY two Republicans worked on this bill and would likely vote for it while we had 11 Democrats in the House that voted against it that everyone is ignoring. Loved the part about two Republicans does not make a bi-partisan bill.
McCain and the rest amazed me last night with their speeches. I would have expected Thune’s and Session’s along with Dr. Tom but not McCain, Graham, Martinez and the new Senator from Nebraska. Was proud of those guys last night for not only standing up on the floor of the Senate but the Senators that went on the news shows with the truth.
McCain will vote for the final product. I mean whatever comes out of the House/Senate conference. He will vote for it and so will Graham, Martinez, and Voinovich.
I have it from both my Senators that any bill containing the pork and items that should be in the Appropriations Committee McCain and others will not vote for. They start over with necessary items or his vote his NO. McCain’s PAC is taking petition signatures against this entire bill to get the Senators to vote NO.
I am not a supporter of McCain most of the time but this time he is standing tall. They will not provide cover for this bill or a conference bill as the House wants to add items back in the Conference bill instead of remove them. He said the Dems have no intention of working with Republicans on this bill to get a better bill which speaks volumes.
I hope you will be right in the end, but I am afraid that I will be. I predict that in the end McCain will reach across the aisle, saying this was the best deal we could get and America cannot afford any further delay.
Four traitors, four so-called Republicans who we call RINOs. Four.
The rest of the Republicans, RINOs or not, held the line. I think we need to remember that.
I just heard that dumba$$ Collins speaking on Fox - is she really that slow or is she on downers? I really wonder how people that know so little about basic economics can find themselves in positions of authority like this. She sounds like Pelosi on ‘Ludes.
