The best defensive weapon is a shotgun. If it must be a handgun, a double action revolver in .38 or bigger caliber is the best choice. And make sure you have proper training-!

Down here in Texas they allow 20” sawed-off shotguns. One of those and a double-action .38 (as you recommend) should work well together.

Yup.

12 guage Ithaca pump riot gun with .00-Buck, and Ruger .357 Magnum with Federal Hydroshok "plus-P" hollow-points.

Turn anything into swiss cheese at 50 feet, crumpled like they had no bones. Lock and load, loud and proud. Bring it, bee-yotch.

Right you are! I have a shotgun for slugs and buckshot barrels. In the past couple of months, I bought a .40 pistol (jams a bit), then backed it up last weekend by .357/.38 revolver. Can’t wait to fire it this Friday!

I guess I'm all set except a short shotgun and an AR-15!
