A little story that illustrates the issue: Yesterday I was talking to a 65 yr. old woman during my physical therapy session. She lives in an affluent suburb of Detroit in a retirement community - not a nursing home, but an apartment bldg with many active seniors, (physically active, that is). We were talking about the Porkulus Bill, she understood it was Communism, stating that her mother would have commented as such from the facts I was presenting about it. Then she said, "how much are we supposed to get this time, and when are we supposed to get it?" She also mentioned her neighbors were all talking about getting their second installment of the "stimulus package" entitlement. I was pretty astounded and changed the subject. She also mentioned her grandson was cheated out of his last time because his mother claimed him.

sigh.

The “what’s mine is mine and what’s yours is mine too” entitlement mentality is the root cause for every problem we have in this country today.

Unless and until we solve that problem, we can’t solve any other.
