Here in Florida, If you use a gun to protect yourself or stop a violent crime, they take your gun. I know I have seen it happen...Oh yea.. you don’t get them back.

Well, the problem is they take your gun in just about every circumstance. Because in many to most cases you are arrested, a potential homicide has been committed, the gun is evidence, so you are taken down to the station for at least a few hours, your gun may or may not be returned to you until the DA determines it’s a lawful shooting. Whether you get the gun back and what kind of process and legal hoops you have to jump through vary by where you live.
