It amazes me that, on a forum supposedly dedicated to conservative constitutional principles, people would celebrate hardship in one of the founding principles: a free press.
You are mistaken in thinking that newspapers are in financial trouble because they print things we don’t agree with.
They’re in trouble for the same reason the saddlery business was in trouble in 1910: technology. The horseless carriage lessened the need for saddles. The internet has changed the way we get news.
Especially today, with a socialist in the White House, we need a financially healthy print media to watch and criticize, just as we have seen done in all prior administrations.
A thriving press is in our best interest. We will NOT be better off without print media.
Think about it.
