I’ve noticed a lot of Democrat legislators and bureaucrats sporting light blue dress shirts over the last several years. It’s become something of a “statement” among liberals and “progressives”.

Plain white shirts got along very poorly with early TV cameras, causing blooming, flares, and other unattractive visual electronic artifacts. Light blue became the default color because it minimized these effects.

Today's TV cameras can compensate for white-shirt brightness but the baby-blue shirts have persisted, not-so-subtly reminding everyone that the wearer just came off the set, soon will be sitting on some pundit's studio sofa, or must be prepared at any instant to adorn the Glass Teat.
