Except it sounds like the Secret Service where doing exactly what they should have, they said he wasn’t a threat nor was the sign, they interviewed and left.

The SS had no choice once they had been notified by the police. On the 0.00000000001% chance that this guy really was a nutjob, they would have been fired for negligence because of not “checking into things.”
