Things are about to get very interesting. For one, I think Alaska should succeed and start drilling in ANWR the day after they do so. It would be a mini-Kuwait. I’d move there for sure.

You mean seceed. The Checks and Slovaks did it and are just fine after doing it right. It doesn't need to be violent at all. Alaska can become a commonwealth without overbearing Washington D.C. laws. Puerto Rico is a commonwealth. The difference is that Alaska is self-sufficient.
