“You’re ignoring absolutely everything I’ve said about the impossibility of building the infrastructure to support this ludicrous dream.

Once again: the supporting infrastructure cannot be built.

And no supporting infrastructure = no GPS/mileage tax.

How much simpler does it need to be stated to you?”

And why should we take your word for this? What are your qualifications to make such a sweeping definitive statement?

Oh, you definitely should not.

Ask your elected representatives, they’ll be happy to explain to you how it all works and how it’ll be built by next year and for less than one billion dollars.

Heh.

If I were an evil commie liberal puke, and wanted to mandate this sort of mileage tax, I would put it in the gas pumps...ie..

All new cars would have a “port” to plug in a reader to the computer system and read the mileage, add in the taxes to the pump price, then reset to the new mileage.

The Gov would just force the stations to install the new pumps.

Before the pump would start you would have to plug in the reader.

No GPS, no massive tracking of every vehicle and their tax money would get sent in by the stations that collect it.

It really wouldn't be that hard because every new car with a computer already has a port to plug in and read the computer to diagnose problems.
