Palin to reimburse state for family travel
Anchorage Daily News ^ | Feb. 24, 2009 | Lisa Demer

Gov. Sarah Palin has agreed to reimburse the state for the costs of nine trips for her children. An agreement announced today settles an ethics complaint filed in October.

The charges that Palin has agreed to reimburse include the cost of her daughter Piper flying on a state plane to the start of the Iron Dog snowmachine race in 2008, and airfare and one meal for daughter Bristol to accompany Palin in October 2007 to New York for a women's leadership conference, according to the settlement.

The vast majority of trips that included the Palin children appeared appropriate, Petumenos said. He said he examined more than 40. But for nine trips, the personal benefit outweighed the public benefit, he found.

He said the state's existing rules on family travel are "dizzying." The settlement agreement says the Department of Law will be asked to provide more specific guidelines.

What about Pelosi and all those grandkids?

Is she paying for their meals on that federally-funded airplane she's got?

Everyone read Palin’s disclosure of the costs and look at the charts, instead of sucking the news from MSM crappers:

“The news media have been focused on the $8,500 the governor has collected in per diem annually while working in Anchorage, almost 50 miles from her home in Wasilla,” said Bill McAllister, director of communications for the governor. “But aside from the fact that the governor is legally entitled to these payments, the media have missed the larger point that the governor actually has saved the state money by not living year-round in the official residence in Juneau.”

“Expense reports for per diem, lodging and travel for the governor and the first gentleman show a savings of more than $900,000 for calendar years 2007 and 2008, compared with the last two years of the previous administration. More than $100,000 of that is attributable to lower costs at the Governor’s House.”

Meanwhile in Rome...

Just more crap thrown at the wall to see what sticks. So far the media/obama/fearful gop, and jealous rivals camps have dug down deep, and essentially found pocket lint. If you put any other governor under the same type of bright light, and microscope you’d find the exact same stuff, and probably much worse on most of them.

All this, per diem, car, travel expenses, Troopergate, Bridge to Nowhere are all cheap shots, and essentially don’t amount to a hill of beans.

Most of Palin’s supporters, myself included, would have to hear her confess to being a serial killer before we’d stop supporting her.

And the smackdown of Sarah palin grinds on.

The Majority Of The American People© already think she's plain white trash. This must be for the benefit of the other 49%.

No wonder they never had time to investigate Michelle Obama’s 318,000 job doing nothing at UofChicago Hospital.

This is old news. October 2008. Complainant was one Frank Gwathmey, a retired lineman in Anchorage, who made a campaign contribution to Howard Dean and was friendly with Hollis French, who spearheaded the Troopergate investigation.

Maybe they could deduct the $ from the 25,000 raise she rejected this year.

I believe she is using this one for the most part...but I believe her recent trip to Italy, and I believe I read a few other similar trips like that was on a C-32. (Pictured in post 16) Same type Hillary just got back from her little trip on.

What about Zero’s wife, kids, and friend of kids? What’s the difference between the Governor and the President traveling to something? Going on vacation for 3-days taking your wife or going to a Dem function should not be picked up by the US Taxpayer. I can assume ZERO is going to reimburse for his trip to the Congressional Dem event? I am not holding my breath!

If the RATs want to get tacky, then why don’t we question the political trips of Obama and his wife?
