Being from south of the Mason Dixon line myself, yes, watermelons, fried chicken, half and half (iced tea/lemondade), are stereotypically foods of african americans.
I remember the first time I read a post on FR wherein a poster called someone a watermelon, and I confess it raised my hackles a bit (don’t really know why as I’m a white guy), until the poster informed me that it was a reference to green (environmentalist) on the outside, red (communist) on the inside. I was properly chastised for my ignorance.
Add “KINGFISH” to the NO-NO list.

Showing a Cadillac parked on the lawn with Obama waxing it over and over would be somewhat "racist" in reference, but the man has servants to do that ~ and more than one Caddy!
My money is on Obama being a big watermelon fan ~ took me a couple of minutes to find watermelon as a featured addition to hotel lua menus throughout Hawaii.
Gotta' remember, this guy is from Hawaii and has lived in the Midwest for the last 25 years (more or less). Hard to pin him down to any Souvrn' stereotypes.

I guess there are plenty of morons in both parties, but some of those in the GOP are hard to fathom. Meanwhile, RNC Chairman Steele says he wants one armed midgets and hip-hoppers in the GOP...! I wonder if he wants to clarify what the heck he is talking about?
