I don't much care for any of the consequences of the "War on Drugs".

Has it ever occurred to you to wonder why liquor store owners manage to resolve their disputes with each other and with unruly customers through the police and courts, whilst cocaine store owners (so to speak) must resolve all disputes via gang violence?

When you're a opiate junkie and fall into the clutches of the evil state, about the worst thing that can happen to you, if your crimes are nonviolent, is that you will get a free taxi ride to and from a clinic where you will be administered a free synthetic opiate about twice as strong as whatever chink or brownback shit you were doing.

You will be subjected to counseling sessions by highly paid professionals on such topics as, "The Lure of Opiates" (Like they don't know already?), "Coping With Your Own Inadequacy", etc. This particular punishment often requires a $2.00 co-pay from the now "victim".

You will then be subjected to the indignity of receiving a monthly stipend covering most of your rent, utilities and food, so you won't have to do that much side dealing for your smokes and drugs.

Coming next: Alcohol rehab clinics start handing out two quarts a day (your choice) to cure alcoholism.
