Yeah. And millions of women will be killed by coat hanger wielding hacks instead of being able to get safe abortions. And pornography is a victimless crime so give us the liberty to indulge in it.
I'd have thought that folks would have learned from Prohibition ... Apparently not.
Learn what? That it's demise was ended by a socialist President? That this socialist President (FDR) first weakened prohibition laws and then led the fight to repeal it?
I would hope that those who actually study the post WWI alcohol prohibition, and who actually study the current prohibition on other drugs would realise that such prohibition
a) Has no effect on the real-world availability of those substances
b) Renders "outlaw" the huge drug economy, resulting in violent dispute-resolution
c) Delivers huge profit to some of the worst elements of society
and
d) Requires a huge, intrusive police-state in order to even attempt enforcement.
If that's what you want, keep up the War on Drugs ... and heck, ban alcohol and tobacco while you're at it. That should be fun.
