I know many Italian and Irish Catholics in the North who still vote Demonrat because they are “my grandfather and father were Union Democrats and I’ll die a Democrat too” types.

My MIL voted for Obama for just that reason. She is 91 yrs. old. Catholic.

I can barely stand to look at her these days.
