If they had held good moral positions they would not be making fiscally liberal decisions. When you know that God is your provider you don’t look to govt. for help. When you don’t who God is, you look to the world for your provisions which makes you very fiscally liberal.
Belief in God’s word is the foundation from which conservative belief springs. Those who don’t know it or who veer from it have nothing to stand on but their own personal ideas and when everyone does what is right in their own sight, you have chaos and anarchy.
I agree with you. Problem is, they think that their benevolent feeling for the poor IS a good moral position when really it's just sentimentality.
They think that the provision for every need is godly. In truth, God provides but universal provision can't happen here on earth (which is liberation theology heresy); that's reserved for heaven.
