Gordon Brown and Barack Obama will meet at the White House 3 March 2009 to discuss a “global new deal” to rebuild the world economy.

Writing in the Sunday Times, Mr Brown said the two leaders would discuss a deal “whose impact can stretch from the villages of Africa to reforming the financial institutions of London and New York”.

He emphasised the importance of the special relationship between Britain and America and said he was keen to strengthen it further.

Mr Brown said: “Now is the time for leaders of every country in the world to work together to agree the action that will see us through the current crisis and ensure we come out stronger. And there is no international partnership in recent history that has served the world better than the special relationship between Britain and the United States.”

The Prime Minister, who first met Mr Obama on a trip to Washington in April last year, will become the first European leader to visit him since the Presidential inauguration in January. He is also set to address a joint session of Congress during the visit.

The trip to Washington comes after Sunday’s informal EU Council in Brussels on the economic crisis. Following the meeting, Mr Brown said he would take a “clear message” to Mr Obama from EU leaders that agreeing a deal on the world economy was “vitally urgent”.

One Socialist meeting another to determining how to divide up the world. There can be no good that comes out of this meeting.

Obama has no business and no right to make any ‘deals’.

When the shovel you’re using isn’t digging your hole fast enough then, by all means, bring in a backhoe.

Absolute, complete insanity !!!

This is getting absolutely scary. Our national identity is under attack from within and from overseas.

NWO?

Not really. New bailouts on the US taxpayer dime.

“We now know that it was French finance minister Christine Lagarde who begged Mr Paulson to save the US insurer AIG last week. AIG had written $300 billion in credit protection for European banks, admitting that it was for “regulatory capital relief rather than risk mitigation”. In other words, it was underpinning a disguised extension of credit leverage. Its collapse would have set off a lending crunch across Europe as banking capital sank below water level.”

Why must we? Because we rely on them to finance our deficits.

Just wondering how many Americans are thinking that they will no longer send money to the US government on April 15th.
