According to them, CO2 levels have been increasing for over 500 years, which predates the industrial age and it's burning of sequestered CO2.
What "climate change/global warming" zealots claim is that Man has the power to change the weather, and on that, I call B*LL$H*T! Man has yet to understand the weather, much less change it....
Crickets chirping as you look it up, afraid to speak the truth...BUMP!
At whatever level they state it is (I'll use 380 ppm), current levels as a percentage is about 0.04%.
As a reference, the atmosphere is about 78% nitrogen, 20% oxygen, 1% argon, and 1% of everything else, including CO2....
Everything else also includes neon, helium, methane, krypton, hydrogen, nitrous oxide, ozone, and ammonia....
(although I wanted palmer to admit it)
.034% is only .034% more than ZERO!
Zero, also known as: nothing, zip, zero, nada.
Ozone is NOT third, it is fourth.
The "greenhouse gases" are (in order and strength):
Water vapor 35-70%,
CO2 9-26% (I guess that depends on whether Algore is speaking that day),
Methane 4-9% (Depends on whether Big Al had a double chili burrito before speaking),
ozone 3-7% (Upper level ozone is produced by the sun)....
Unlike a certain divinity school flunkie who's a former VP and global warming activist....
Well, I must be off. I have to put a timing chain on my car.
I can’t afford $10,000+ for a “new” ride, but a $30.00 timing chain will keep my 200k+ mileage, 1980 Malibu running until the Obamanation in the White House is gone....
It is SO IMPORTANT for conservatives to understand to NEVER DENY global warming. That is a loser argument. Because global warming has happened before....albeit by nature.
The correct argument is “it is not man made”. The best proof is ending of last ice age due to massive global warming long before man had invented on demand fire.
Sorry for shouting but this is critical.
It’s both. Any increase in CO2 will increase temperature (simple physics). Most increases in temperature will bring out more CO2 from the oceans. The 500-800 lag is based on extremely crude ice core measurements (about one measurement for every few hundred years). I wouldn’t read too much into it.
I've posted it dozens if not hundreds of times.
Ranges depend on the spectral overlap. The issue of whether doubling CO2 causes catastrophic warming or not depends on that overlap plus the changes in weather that may occur at higher temperatures. Because of the overlap with H2O, the doubling of CO2 creates about a 0.25C temperature rise, not catastrophic. Factoring in weather changes, there may be a rise in the height of the troposphere or other changes that cause warming. Real world measurements are not conclusive but it is doubtful that there would be enough positive feedback to be considered catastrophic.
There is nothing man can or should do other than be aware. Just like incoming meteors.
true, except we’ll have plenty of time to adjust if necessary (unlike a meteor).
