It is when it’s George Galloway you’re talking about.
Egypt is primarily pro-Israel, anti-Hamas, believe it or not.

I did not know about anti-Hamas sentiment in Egypt. This is a good thing.

Of course, it is pretty easy to be anti-Hamas. A pretty low bar to clear. Yet somehow Galloway and his ilk fail to do so...

Not pro-Israel, anti Iran. Hamas is Iran’s baby.

I can certainly understand why reasonable people would be pro-Israel and anti-Hamas but these are Muslims, not reasonable people. Why are they anti-Hamas?

Egypt is primarily pro-Israel, anti-Hamas, believe it or not.

Totally off.

The most popular political party in Egypt is the Muslim Brotherhood, which is very closely aligned with Hamas. The unpopular ruling party, led by President Mubarack, sees the Brotherhood as its main threat. So it strongly opposes Hamas (which is very different from being "pro-Israel"). But the vast majority of Egyptians are supportive of Hamas, their government's position to the contrary notwithstanding.

I don’t know about the pro-Israel part, but they are not so pro-Palestine because they constantly have to put up with them, unlike many pro-Palestine groups who like Hamas.... from a distance.

Egypt is not “primarily” pro Israel. You obviously don’t read the Egyptian press.

Nice seeing George Galloway finding justice.

Is it because they don't want the Palestinians to relocate to Egypt?

Not even 8:45 yet here in Kalifornistan, and we already have our Post of the Day.

I wouldn't describe Egypt as pro-Israel by any means. Anti-Hamas is quite correct as shown by their frequent border closures with the Gaza strip. No way, no how, do they want the Pallies streaming over their border.

Israel would be please if Egypt, Jordan or any of their neighbors would take over the Pallie problem and the land which goes along with it. For all the Arab braying about their sympathy with the Pallies, said sympathy is limited to writing the minimum check required to keep the problem outside their own borders.

Which is exactly why it is insane for the U.S. to import an Islamic problem that even the most Islamic countries do not want.

>>>Egypt is primarily pro-Israel, anti-Hamas, believe it or not.

The Bible talks about an alliance in the last days between Egypt, Israel, and Assyria. Most present day "Assyrians" live in Iraq.

Isaiah 19:23 ¶ In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians. 24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land: 25 Whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance. http://scriptures.lds.org/en/isa/19/23-25#23

Israel is our closest ally. The US is the top provider of Arms and Weapons to the Egyptian govt. and Iraq of course is Democratic now. Funny how liberals don't even try to explain how the Bible gets so many prophecies correct 1000's of years before they occur.

Anti-Hamass yes. Pro-Israel, no. I lived there in Cairo for 3 years. Israel is viewed with distrust and every time something bad happens the Egyptians blame it on Israel. But the average Egyptian does not like Hamass because they are linked to Iran. Egyptians are Arabs. They do not like Persians. Grudge match going back for several millennia.

I can believe they are anti-Hamas. Any competent observer over there should be worried that those animals will trigger a conflagration.
