Editor: Once again you have allowed Ann Coulter's noxious, racist, homophobic, xenophobic, neurotic screed to insult entire groups of people, in this case, the intellectually challenged, or the "retarded," which is her preferred usage, and teachers, whom she attacks with an irrational ferocity. She demeans public schools, public school teachers and, apparently, all education that is publicly funded. Why?
In last Monday's column, Coulter dismisses Nancy Pelosi as "the first elected mentally retarded" Speaker of the House. I can't fault Coulter's abusive, misinformed, morally bankrupt and irrelevant whining. She makes a fortune off of an ever-shrinking bunch of illiterate, unthinking suckers with her act.
However, I can fault the editors of The Record for providing the venue for her insensitive, demeaning and derogatory declarations. We are way beyond First Amendment issues here.
In Ann Coulter's fantasy world, all power and decision making will be in the hands of white, conservative Christian men, who will rule America and the world with an iron-willed intransigence from the secure seats of their gilded golf carts while they run laps in the safety of their gated communities.
Ann, Rush, it's a brave new world. It's time for you to become part of it.

PS. Although Amy Goodman writes a thoughtful, dignified and earnest column, she is no match for the pit-bullish excoriations of Coulter.
If you need suggestions for a voice that can balance Coulter's mean-spirited silliness on Mondays, I'll be happy to offer suggestions.
I'm totally off subject, but she's a little cutie. I'd find it hard to refuse her whine. Mr. Marcil and the other whinny little brats in D.C. — not so much.

The more I read about leftists having fits over Ann and Rush, the more I like Ann and Rush! Keep up the good work.

What Ann and Rush, (but Ann focuses on it more), have done is strip the BS from Liberal’s Socialist propaganda and they hate them for it.
When you look at some of the main ‘propaganda’ references that are used to continue the image:
- That the liberals ‘care’ for “the people”...
- That any time any one of them are attacked, it’s “McCarthyism”...
- That free market capitalism doesn’t work...
- That we should operate on ‘others’ interests’ instead of our own self interest...
And you have Ann and Rush saying that liberals don’t really care about people and show why that’s the case; that McCarthy was right and Ann proves it; that Socialism has never worked wherever it has been tried and the the free market raises everyone and Adam Smith’s (which Milton Friedman repeats) maxim of the ‘invisible hand’ works:
where “individuals, who may intend to pursue only their own interests, ultimately promote the public welfare.”
And also the reverse (which is what the socialist want):
“... that no good is done when a person goes into the market with the public welfare in mind”
And while I’m at it ;-) .... this whole thing about the Republicans ‘not having a plan’ is repeated time after time - many times right _in front_ of so-called Republican commentators who remain silent. Yet Boehner and the Repubs put up a stimulus package that was half the cost and created twice the jobs as the Dem plan and when someone like Shelby says, ‘let the bad banks and GM fail’ isn’t just a ‘No’, it is let them file bankruptsy so they have a chance to get back on their feet.
When Republican’s say take out the regulations of CRA and either abolish or put Heavy oversight on Freddie and Fannie, that isn’t just “NO” and it is a part of a plan as is reducing taxes and spending. But no liberal sees it as a “plan” only because they don’t agree with it!
I don’t think Socializing America is a ‘plan’ either. It’s simply Bernie Madoff’s “ecomonics fraud” on a broader scale.
